Vintage 1960s Strombecker Lotus 30 Slot Car, 1/24th Scale.
The first model from Dowst, under the name Strombecker was a modified version of the battery-powered Maserati 250F.  Strombecker sold its cars in kit form and ready-to-race models.  RTR (ready to race) models were also offered in sets.   Sales of the toys, which were marketed under the name Strombecker, jumped from 20,000 to 500,000 sets by 1963.  With the cars now comprising the firm's main source of revenue, Dowst Manufacturing changed its name to Strombecker Corporation.
This Lotus 30 slot car is in as last raced condition, very nice overall, roll bar and driver figure are present, spun aluminum wheels with simulated mag wheel inserts, original British racing green body is unpainted, the 'glass' windscreen and injector cover are both intact, no cracks in the hard plastic body.  Powered by Mabuchi 'Can' motor, motor has been tested and it does run.
